ARTIST BIO

Marta Maurel, born and raised in Barcelona (Spain) in 1959, based in Menorca (Balearic Islands), Spain is a self-taught abstract artist who began her journey in the world of art in 2015. With a passion for creativity and a desire to express herself through unique and unconventional mediums, Marta explores the boundaries of colour, shape, and form.

Having no formal training in art, Marta finds inspiration in everyday life, nature, and the emotions she experiences. Her work is characterized by bold, vibrant colors and expressive brushstrokes that convey a sense of energy and movement. Each piece is a reflection of her personal vision and a spontaneous exploration of abstract art.

Marta enjoys experimenting with various techniques and materials, often using a mix of traditional and unconventional tools to create their pieces. She believes that art should be a form of self-expression without limitations and aims to push the boundaries of her creativity.

Despite her lack of formal experience, Marta is eager to share her work with the world and connect with other art enthusiasts. She hopes that her art will resonate with viewers and inspire others to pursue their passions.

In her spare time, Marta enjoys exploring different artistic styles and drawing inspiration from other artists, both contemporary and historical. She is always looking for new ways to expand her artistic horizons and continue to grow as an artist.
