ABOUT THE ART

Xavier Ange Casalta is a French artist, born in Digne les Bains on July 9th 1992. After a year of MANAA and a BTS in Visual Communication, he started his own business at the age of 20 as a graphic designer – illustrator.

Xavier Casalta’s first interest was in typography, and he produced numerous lettering designs, including work on the alphabet. His interest then turned to drawing in a broader sense, with a particular interest in still life and architecture.

Xavier Casalta’s interest in architecture began during a collaboration with the Dior fashion house. More recently, he has developed a passion for a new subject of representation, Antiquity.

Xavier Casalta uses the technique of pointillism, and works exclusively with ink on paper.  His works are composed of millions of small dots and can go up to more than 10 million dots for the largest formats.

The artist has many inspirations, first of all he is inspired by the golden ratio that can be found in plants and flowers, but also by symmetry in all fields. He is very interested in skills such as engraving, sculpture and architecture.

His passion for ancient coins can be felt in his work, he really wants to transcribe his passions through his work.
